Recruiter jobs are well known within the employment industry. Many people seek out recruiters; recruiters in turn seek out job boards and other methods to help these individuals. Finding candidates and jobs, recruiters rely on various methods to do their job. Read on to find out more about recruiting jobs and the future of the recruitment sector.

Many of my friends have come across recruiters and their assistance in their searches for good companies. Recruiters have quite a tedious task at times, but they are really the backbone of finding qualified groups of candidates for specific companies.

The average salary of a recruiter with less than a year of experience is $34,226, according to PayScale.com. Someone who has over 20 years of experience in the recruiting field makes an average of about $58,640, according to the site.

So what does a recruiter do? After conducting some research, I compiled the information below regarding the duties one would be expected to handle in a recruiting job.

What Does a Recruiter Do?
  1. A recruiter usually finds and interviews potential job candidates. A recruiter needs to find candidates that will make ideal employees for employers. This could require him or her to interview potential employees. Some recruiters may even do some traveling to recruit people.

  2. A recruiter needs to make sure the candidates he or she submits fit the company he or she works for. Recruiters need to make sure that they screen candidates properly and evaluate their skills. Recruiters may have to conduct presentations as well. They are responsible for finding ideal candidates for their employers.

  3. A recruiter needs to be knowledgeable about the company he or she represents. The recruiter needs to know what the company is looking for and the benefits it provides, along with all the other details about the company in general. The recruiter should be schooled in the company’s policies as well.
The Required Education for a Recruiting Job

A lot of recruiters have some sort of college education. Human resources majors are the most prevalent in this field. A master’s degree — especially if it’s in business — is a benefit in this industry.

A recruiter also needs to have good marketing, business, and management skills. He or she should be prepared to travel and be flexible with his or her weekend hours. Additionally, communication is key in a recruiter position.

What Does the Future Hold for Recruiters?

Jobs in the recruitment industry seem to be stable at this point. Although recessions cause recruiters to have difficult times, the need for qualified candidates is always out there. Recruiters are able to work in various industries, as different recruiters can specialize in specific areas. As long as recruiters remain up to date regarding the various technological resources at their disposal, they can grow in their careers.

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
